Enrollment in seattle schools is up by 5,000 students. By 2020 the district is expecting to have 60,000 students. Starting next year they will revise the enrollment boundaries around some schools.

The recommended changes:

  • 80 percent of the boundaries around elementary schools will remain the same.
  • The remaining 20 percent will have different boundaries.
  • Middle and high schools will change over the next 10 years.

District planners don t think the new boundaries will be hugely disruptive and they say siblings will not be separated.

The school district has scheduled five community meetings for the public to learn more about the new boundaries
