State troopers say alcohol appears to be a factor in a deadly crash on Interstate 5 in Seattle Wednesday that killed a young woman and left several other people injured.
It happened just before midnight at an exit near 6th Avenue.
A Washington State Patrol spokesperson said the car was traveling south when it hit the crash attenuator.
Six people were in the car. One passenger was ejected from the car and died at the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt. Another person had to be extricated.
Troopers are investigating the crash as vehicular homicide. The driver is in custody.
