A seagull flew into a power line just after 1:30 on Tuesday afternoon, causing a power outage in Ballard. The power outage affected 5,240 customers.

By 3 p.m., Seattle City Light crews restored power to all but 175 customers in the affected area.

The remaining customers were epxected to be restored after 7 p.m.

The original outage boundaries include -- on the north, NW 70th St; on the south, the Ship Canal; on the east, 9th Ave NW and on the west Puget Sound. Not everyone within the boundaries was affected.
