Thursday is the Great American Smokeout, a day every year focused on getting smokers to kick the habit. Kathleen MacGuire, from the Pierce County Health Department stopped by KING 5 to talk about smoking and how to quit.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, 443,000 deaths each year in the U.S. are attritbuted ot tobacoo use. And in Pierce County, 956 deaths or 16.3 percent of all deaths in the County in 2008 were tobacco-related deaths, according to Centers for Disease Control data sources.
