A Covington man was bludgeoned to death on Sunday, not shot as originally reported
Just after 5:30 p.m. on Sunday evening, the King County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call from a residence in the 26800 block of 172nd Pl SE in the City of Covington.
The caller reported a man had been shot in the head in a camper behind the house and indicated the suspect was still at the location.
Covington police, along with King County deputies, responded to the scene and detained four people for questioning.
The victim was found in the trailer behind the house and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shortly before 11 p.m., detectives arrested one of the people originally detained.
A thorough investigation by the detectives revealed the victim had actually been bludgeoned to death, not shot as originally reported.
The investigation is ongoing.
