A Tacoma Middle School teacher has been charged with five counts of child rape for having sex with one of her students.

According to charging documents, Keshia Shaw was the sixth grade boy s math and science teacher at Gray Middle School in Tacoma when the sexual contact started.

The charging papers from Pierce County Superior Court say the teacher seduced the boy in a room next to her classroom, performed oral sex on him, and had sexual intercourse with him.

Prosecutors say this happened twice at the school, then again later in the summer when the teacher gave the boy a ride home from school and again two years after that when the boy was an eighth grader in a different school.

The Tacoma School District says they learned of the accusations this May and put Shaw on leave. That was changed to unpaid leave when the charges were filed.

The documents say the boy disclosed to his mother after he heard a church sermon about molestation.

Shaw has been a fulltime teacher in the Tacoma School District for seven years.

Another student's father said he never got a good vibe from the teacher everyone knew as Mrs. Shaw.

You know how you have a parent instinct and personally, me, I didn't like the way she dressed, the way she talked, and just the way she presented herself. It was very unprofessional, said George Vienna.

KING 5 spoke with several of Shaw's former students who said they were shocked by the allegations and said Shaw was a fun teacher and that she was friends with a lot of the students.
