SEATTLE - A man is recovering after he was shot as he left a club in Seattle's Belltown neighborhood.

Police say shortly after 3:30 a.m. Sunday, aman and several friendswere leaving the club when aChevy Camaro with two men inside drove by the corner of 5th and Wall Street and fired several shots.

The victim was shotin the jawand is in stable condition at Harborview Medical Center.

Police spokeswoman Renee Witt said the shooting was not random.

Actually the victim was involved in an incident with one of the suspects on June 8, she said, adding that the incident was a car prowl.

Seattle Police arrested the suspects near I-90 and Dearborn.

Witt said they were able to make the arrests so quickly because of an increased police presence after the Belltown bar closing time.

It's definitely a strategy, and obviously it's working, said Witt.

The incident comes just two weeks after an unrelated fatal shooting in Belltown. The suspects in that case were just arrested a few days ago.

In an unrelated incident early Sunday, a man was beaten unconscious on First Avenue.

A public safety forum, which will include Seattle Police, is scheduled for Tuesday night at 7 at the Belltown's Labor Temple.
