SILVERDALE, Wash. - A Silverdale man is under arrest, accused of voyeurism. But this alleged peeping tom has taken the crime to a new level.
Last week, April Miller made the creepy discovery while she was getting ready to move out of her apartment.
"I took off the candles and then I took off the mirror, then I thought it was electrical tape on my wall. But when I came up, you can't see through it anymore but it's a hole," said Miller.
It was a peep hole into her bedroom, cut through Sheetrock of her wall. Miller showed us a photo of the back of her mirror. In the photo you can see a small square where the paint has been scratched off to allow a voyeur to see through it.
Miller knew a man was working on his car in the space next to her apartment.
"Then I realized, 'Oh. He's been spying on me,' and I've been pretty shocked since then," said Miller.
The hole on the other side is blocked now, but she took a picture of what she could see when she looked through it last week.
"There's a door right there and I found out later that's his bathroom," said Miller.
Police say the woman who rents out the shop next door let her boyfriend use the space. The 42-year-old Silverdale man has been arrested.
Miller wonders how long he had been watching her and how he knew the hole wouldn't be noticed.
"The guy had to come into my house to know there is a mirror here or else study it pretty hard through the window," said Miller.
Miller says the man's girlfriend came over and apologized to her. Now, she can't help feeling sorry for the both of them.
Police say the suspect was booked on voyeurism and burglary charges.
