SEATTLE -- At the end of a terrible day, 12-year-old Andrew Castrella wanted to be at Saint James Cathedral to express the emotions that had been weighing on him.

I'm just sorry. I just feel bad. They're children. It must have been so scary for them, said Castrella while the tears streamed down his face.
Castrella along with his mother and sister were at the church for a 6:30 p.m. prayer gathering. They hoped to find some peace after Friday's school massacre in Newtown, Connecticut.
I think it helps for people to be with other people and to feel a sense of community when things like this happen, said Lisa Castrella, Andrew's mother.
Close to a hundred people filled Saint James Cathedral for an evening of prayers, songs, and reflection.
I am feeling empathy for them, for how scary it must have been. I just feel really bad, terrible, said Castrella.
