Police are searching for a gunman who shot a Seattle homeowner during a home-invasion robbery early Sunday morning.

The break-in happened just before 2 a.m.on 12300 block of 11th Ave NE in Northgate.

The victim operates a marijuana grow operation with his roommate, and he was shot in the chest when he confronted the intruder.

The homeowner's girlfriend woke up and discovered him on the living room floor. She was able to get a glimpse of the suspect as he fled.

He is described as an Asian man between 20-30 years old. He was wearing all black clothing and had very short hair.

The girlfriend called 911 and the homeowner was rushed to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Police are still looking for the shooter.
