The Seattle Symphony ishosting a unique FREE festival Sunday featuring performers across the musical spectrum. It's called the Day of Music and includes more than 40 musical acts playing in every room at Benaroya Hall.
Rosalie Contreras, Seattle Symphony's Vice President of Marketing and Communications, joined Margaret to talk more about the Day of Music and about new Director Ludovic Morlot, who will hold two public question and answer sessions on Sunday (1:30pm at Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall and 2:15pm at Garden of Remembrance).
The day kicks off at 10:30am in the Soundbridge with numerous activities for children. The music begins at noon and will feature a variety of genres, including hip hop, a capella, jazz, indie rock and Russian and Irish folk music. For a complete schedule, click here.
One of the bands performing at the Day of Music is the fun jazz band Snake Suspenderz. Members Howlin' Hobbit, Thaddeus Spae, Andrew Sketch Hare and salamandir performed for the enthusiasticNew Day audience.
