TUKWILA, Wash. Three people are in the hospital following a possible abduction and high speed chase, which ended after a driver made a u-turn into oncoming I-5 traffic.
It all started in Renton, where Kenny McKenzie was enjoying a break outside of his packaging plant.
We heard a bang, says McKenzie, who was standing with two other co-workers, at Graphic Packaging Incorporated. They looked over and saw a driver crash his car into another, at the small parking lot of the Black River Riparian Forest, and then a guy and girl come out of the bushes, the guy pushed the girl in the front seat, changed places in the drivers seat and then took off on the wrong side of the road.
Renton Police were on the scene a short time later, according to McKenzie, who watched them speed up a hill towards the car.
Sgt. Bill Judd, of the Renton Police, says the officers followed the car to the freeway, where it got on Northbound I-5 and then for some reason, made a u-turn into oncoming traffic. The car made it about a half mile, before slamming into another car.
The innocent driver walked away from the head-on crash.
The three people inside the other vehicle were taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Police don t know what the relationship is between the two men and woman, and what exactly was going on at the Park.
All lanes of Northbound I-5 near Tukwila were reopened shortly before 3:30 this afternoon.
