TACOMA, Wash. Two suspectsin last week's home invasion robbery and murder in Edgewood, who were captured in California, have returnedto Pierce County.
The Pierce County Sheriff's Department says Kiyoshi Higashi, 22,arrived Friday afternoon at the county jail. Joshua Reese, 20, arrived on a flight at Sea-Tac Airport from the San Francisco area at about 11:30 p.m. Friday. The pair waived extradition after being arrested last weekend.
Two other suspects Amanda Knight, 21,and Clabon Berniard, 23 are also in custody. All four are charged with the murder of Jim Sanders in his home on April 28.
Sheriff's dept. spokesman Det. Ed Troyer also says a ring that Knight pawned in California was the one pulled off Jim Sanders' hand after he had been shot. The ring belonging to his widow, Charlene, has not been found.
Detectives say the Sanders family was targeted because of an ad for a ring they placed on Craigslist. Police say the suspects showed up, zip-tied the family and pistol whipped them. Jim Sanders was shot while trying to protect his family.
Knight is the only one to be arraigned thus far. She has pleaded not guilty.
Police have indicated they believe Higashi or Reese pulled the trigger.
