A Joint Base Lewis McChord soldier is being held on $2 million bail for the murder of a Kirkland woman.

Dakota Wolf, 20, pleaded not guilty to first degree murder charges Monday in King County. He is accused of stabbing victim Scarlett Paxton to death in November 2011.

Paxton, 19, was found by her boyfriend stabbed in the neck outside her Kirkland apartment.

Since his arrest in December, Wolf has been serving a military jail sentence for going absent without leave (AWOL).

If convicted, Wolf faces between 22 and 29 years in prison.

Detectives have not released a connection, if any, between Paxton and Wolf.
