OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is staying an extra day in Washington state, holding a public event Friday morning.

Romney attended a reception at theMeydenbauer Center in Bellevue Thursday evening. Protestors chanting against big business and global corporations lay down in front of the entrance to the convention center.

Romney then will hold a meet-and-greet in the city the next morning at the Highland Community Center. His visit comes in advance of the state's Republican caucuses on Saturday.

The former Massachusetts governor is in a crowded primary race with Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul. All have now visited the state, and Santorum and Paul are back for a second visit this week in advance of the caucuses.
