Here on New Day, we have brought audiences a number of segments about families struggling with hunger around the holidays, but the need can be even greater during the summer, when many families go without school breakfast and lunch programs. Hopelink helps more than 77,000 people a year, through programs that provide stability, and teach skills needed to break the cycle of poverty. Those programs include Hopelink's annual End Summer Hunger campaign.

Hopelink CEO Lauren Thomas and Brittney Sheehan, Media Relations Manager for Bank of America, a corporate sponsor for the campaign, joined host Margaret Larson on the show today to explain more.

You can help End Summer Hunger by donating food at one of Hopelink's five centers (see list below) or donating money online.
