Police are investigating the death of a woman found in a Renton apartment as a homicide.
Police say at 11:50 a.m. Saturday, Renton Police received a 911 call from a man who said he had killed his girlfriend.
The man told dispatchers that he would be waiting outside his South Renton apartment, that he had booby trapped the apartment, and that he was armed.
Responding officers found a 20-year old man standing in front of the apartment building.
Police say the man defied commands to stay where he was and ran back into an apartment unit. Police shot out a couple of windows with beanbags and the man eventually surrendered to police.
Police checked the apartment and found a 20-year-old woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say it appears that the woman was strangled.
