KING 5 won the highest number of viewers and key demographics at 5 a.m., 6 a.m., 5 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. in the February ratings period. KING 5 s news expansion at 7 p.m. also grew the time period 63% over 2013.

Leading off the month, KING 5 s Evening Magazine drew its highest number of viewers in four years, winning the time period before passing the torch to The OZone, KING 5 s locally produced, nightly focus on Northwest athletes.

The Olympics proved, once again, to be a winning strategy for the network and for KING 5. KING 5 captured the action and excitement of the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, with live reports every morning during the games, including features from KING 5 contributor, local Olympian Ariana Kukors.

The Winter Olympics always bring a lot of excitement to KING 5, said Ray Heacox, President & General Manager of KING 5. It gives some of the best journalists in the world a chance to cover the best athletes in the world. A spectacular display of homegrown talent - and our audience can t get enough.

Additional highlights from the February ratings period include steady growth of the news products on KONG TV. The morning team grew its audience from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. in key demographics.

It was also a busy month for the network. NBC said goodbye to Jay Leno and welcomed host Jimmy Fallon with record setting viewership.
