Snowfall this weekend ran 1-2 inches above forecasts... why?

The computer models available Saturday morning showed very minimal amounts of snow - less than we projected. On Saturday evening the models pushed it into the 1-2 inch range in the Puget Sound area from Tacoma north and up to four inches to the south.

What happened is the moisture moved farther north and was slower to exit than projected, that increased hang time, and increased snowfall by 1-2 above projections for the Puget Sound area.
