If you're looking for a little heat on these cold gray days, you'll find it down in Seattle's Columbia City neighborhood at Island Soul Restaurant. Chef Theo Martin has owned the restaurant since they started serving Caribbean-inspired cuisine 10 years ago. But when he's not at the restaurant, you may find him dishing out advice. For the last two years, Martin has been giving Central area kids cooking lessons at Coyote Central.

The liking-what-you-cook philosophy has helped him at home with his own kids, including his 12-year-old daughter. He shares his recipe for curry chicken.
