TACOMA, Wash (AP) -- Senior forward Brittany McPhee scored 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds as tournament-favorite Mount Rainier beat Jackson 57-39 Thursday in a quarterfinal game at the Class 4A girls basketball tournament.

The Rams (26-1) led 18-3 after one quarter and never trailed. McPhee was 7 of 15 shooting and 8-for-9 from the free-throw line. The Rams were an impressive 20 of 42 as a team from the field.

The Timberwolves (20-5) shot just 27 percent from the field (16 of 48) and were just 1 of 12 from 3-point range. Sierra Anderson was the only Jackson player in double-figures with 15 points. Kelli Kingma, one of Jackson's leading scorers, scored just four points. She was just 2 of 16 from the field and missed all six 3-point attempts.
