BOTHELL, Wash. -- Tonight the Bothell community will come together to support Jessie Owen. The Frank Love Elementary school teacher was paralyzed from her shoulders down right before Christmas.

On December 21, her family was taking a road trip to Leavenworth. Her parents, Tim and Cheryl, were in the front seat of their white Chevy Tahoe. Jessie and her siblings, Jeremy and Jaime along with Jaime's husband Steven, were in the back. A tree fell and landed on top of the vehicle. Tim and Cheryl did not survive. Jeremy managed to escape without serious injuries. Jessie, Jaime, and Steven were seriously hurt.

Today Jaime and Steven continue to heal from broken bones at home.

Jessie has a bigger battle ahead of her. To pay for rehab costs insurance does not cover, fellow teachers and friends are putting on a benefit at the Northshore Senior Center in Bothell. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
