Sonics faithful gathered at two rallies Monday night - one at Seattle's FX McRory's in Pioneer Square and at Neumo's on Capitol Hill - to show the NBA Seattle's support for the Sonics' return.

Mayor Mike McGinn was among the many fans who posed for a group photo to send to NBA owners.

The relocation and finance committees had a conference call Monday, ahead of Wednesday's Board of Governors meeting. They're continuing on with their recommendation not to move the Kings from Sacramento to Seattle, despite Seattle investor Chris Hansen's increased offer of $625 million for the NBA franchise.

The NBA had no comment on how Monday's meeting went.

NBA owners are expected to meet in Dallas later this week to vote once and for all on Hansen's proposal to purchase the Kings. Hansen is expected to make a final presentation at that meeting.

Rally sponsors say no matter what happens, Hansen is a already a winner.

How many guys have come into this city and fought for us the way Chris Hansen is fighting for us, said Dave Softy Mahler, KJR Radio host. This thing may not happen down the road. It may end up Chris without the NBA coming back in November. But the way thing guy continues to fight and scratch and claw for basketball fans and sports fans here, I think he's a hero no matter what happens in this story.

No committee meetings are scheduled on Tuesday before Wednesday's meeting.
