Jasper Hugunin, a thirteen year old eighth grade student from Island Middle School on Mercer Island, Washington, developed a video game which introduces players to programming concepts as they provide instructions to guide a robot through increasingly challenging mazes. This cleverdesign of Robot Commander won Jasper the Playable Game, Open Platform and Playable Game, andIncorporating STEM Themes categories at the National STEM Video Game Challenge.
