ANACORTES, Wash. -An Anacortes High School teacher and two students have been disciplined for an incident that involves vandalizing school hallways.
Two seniors can be seen on school security cameras in the January incident. School administrators say they damaged ceiling tiles, dismantled several video cameras and removed nine classroom doors.
This week, a shop teacher admitted he gave the students a key and an alarm code to enter the school.
Superintendent Chris Borgen says the students also confessed to the vandalism.
We questioned everyone involved to get to the bottom of this, said Borgen. We've determined with legal counsel that harsh and appropriate disciplinary action will be administered.
That discipline includes short-term suspension for the students and a five-day unpaid suspension for the teacher.
We believe that is harsh and appropriate, saidBorgen.
An agreement reached between the teacher and the school district also includes a review of the Code of Conduct.
