SEATTLE - A 16-year old girl has been arrested for assault for her alleged role in the bus tunnel beating case.
In the meantime, the three adult defendants in the case pleaded not guilty to robbing the 15-year-old victim.
Latroy Hayman, 20, Tyrone Watson, 18, and Dominique Whitaker, 18, were arraigned Wednesday in court on first degree robbery charges.
The three young men are accused of stealing Aiesha Steward-Baker's purse and other belongings after another girl beat her in the Metro bus tunnel downtown.
They are being held on $25,000 to $100,000 bail and face three to four years in prison if convicted.
An uncle of one of the defendants says his nephew was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
They're getting railroaded from what I've seen, no one jumped in, no one did nothing, no one took nothing by force. None of that, but they are getting charged with these extensive crimes, first degree assault, first degree robbery and that carries a lot of time so I think they're getting railroaded, said A.Z. Robinson.
Steward-Baker's attorney, Therese Lavalle, said she and her client are relieved that the bail for the suspects was maintained.
It appears clearly from the video that it was a pack mentality, as the prosecutor stated, it was a situation where each of the defendants in this case had a role in either the assault or taking of property, she said.
The three men will be back in court March 10.
