A 41-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries after he was shot Thursday night by an officer in Pacific, according to police.

Sgt. Cindi West of the King County Sheriff's Office said the officer had attempted to stop a stolen truck, when the suspect led the officer on a chase through a residential neighborhood, even driving over lawns as he drove away.

After a pursuit, the suspect stopped the stolen truck in the driveway of a house in the 200 block of Sunset Drive and ran, pursued by police. The 41-year-old suspect circled back and jumped into the running patrol car.

Following a struggle, the officer fired multiple shots as the suspect drove off in the patrol car and hit a Hummer, which was pushed into a garage door.

The suspect, who is from Quilcene, was transported to Harborview in critical condition. Police say he is expected to survive.

The truck was stolen fromPort Townsend on Wednesday, according to KCSO.

The incident is under investigation by the King County Investigative Response Team..
