Three young women from Washington and Oregon will take on the 10 Meter Platform Wednesday at the U.S. Olympic Diving Trials in Federal Way with the hopes of going to London next month.

Carrie Dragland of Woodinville, Katrina Young of Shoreline and Cassie Weil of Hillsboro are not considered favorites to win one of the two spots for the women on the platform, but they certainly will have the home pool advantage.

Dragland, 23, has already advanced to Thursday night's final in the 3 meter Synchronized Springboard. She finished 8 on the platform at the 2012 USA Diving Winter Nationals.

Young, 20, currently attends Florida State University. She took fourth place on the platform at the NCAA championships this year.

Weil is a relative newcomer to the national diving scene. The 18-year-old got her start diving off cliffs in Acapulco. She plans to attend LSU this fall.

The preliminaries of the women's 10 meter platform will be Wednesday morning with the semifinals happening in the evening. The men will also compete Wednesday in the 3 meter springboard.
