STEVENS PASS, Wash. -- A Washington State Department of Transportation snow blower is being repaired after it was was crushed by an avalanche on Stevens Pass.
The avalanche on March 31 buried the snow blower, usually used to clear snow from the North Cascades Highway.
WSDOTposted photos of the snow blower on their Flickr page.
According to the WSDOT, the snow blower may not be available for that job this year because of the damage done to it in the avalanche.
It has broken windows, crushed steel panels, a broken steering gear, and damaged hydraulic and cooling systems.
A snow blower out of Spokane that is usually dedicated to Sherman Pass may have be borrowed.
