If you're okay with having teens invade your living room and raid your refrigerator, then you're going to like this idea: the "hangout" house. It's a great way to keep tabs on your teen. Many parents feel that if your child is at your house, you don't have to wonder what they're up to or where they are. You also get to know their friends a bit more.

One local mother told ParentMap that she has to remind herself that it might be expensive restocking the pantry and not so fun listening to loud music, but it's worth it because she gets to see her teen more and it's temporary. She only has a few years left before her teen heads to college.
