With a frost advisory and freeze warning in effect for parts of Puget Sound, now is the time to prepare your home, your yard, your car, and even your pets for colder weather.

Jeff Renner's forecast is as follows:

Monday Night: Mostly clear with widespread frost, especially 5-10 miles or more inland from the Sound. Local fog will also be possible, and that raises the possibility of freezing fog/black ice. Lows near the Sound will be in the mid to upper 30's, but elsewhere mainly in the mid 20's to near 30.

Tuesday:

Puget Sound Forecast: Widespread frost in the morning, especially 5-10 miles or more inland from the Sound with areas of fog and freezing fog. Otherwise, mostly sunny with highs in the low to mid 50's.

Coast Forecast: Local morning fog and freezing fog, otherwise mostly sunny. Highs mid 50's, northeast winds 5-15 mph.

Mountain Forecast: Mostly sunny. Freezing level 11,000-12,000'. Pass highs low to mid 40's. West winds to 15 mph.

Eastern Washington Forecast: Sunny. Highs mid 40's to low 50's.

With those frigid temperatures in mind, we visited a local nursery for winterizing tips.
