Neighbors in Snoqualmie Ridge caught marauders in black snooping through their yard Saturday morning. The culprits were black bear cubs, with mom not far off.

Colin Davis snapped photos of the balancing bears in his backyard. He says they re pretty used to bears coming around a few times each year, but not in the daylight and certainly not using his fence as a tight rope. The bears usually scrounge around for snacks at night.

I was amazed they were able to walk on the fence, said Davis. I thought they would hop off, but they kept going.

Davis says his neighbor was cook breakfast with the door open, and perhaps it was bacon that beckoned the bears. He says the humans are the new ones in the area and doesn t mind too much.

I have no problem with nature out here, I love it, it s part of the reason we moved out here, Davis said with a smile. We see deer all the time, all different animals. You don t expect to see the bears, but it s their neighborhood.
