The Seattle Humane Society s 24th annual Tuxes & Tails gala broke records on Saturday night, with more than 1,000 guests raising more than $1,586,000 for the animals in Seattle Humane Society s care.

Local media and sports celebrities showed their support by walking the runway with Seattle Humane's adoptable shelter pets.

KING 5's Margaret Larson emceed the event, and Lisa Van Cise and Rich Marriott also attended.

We re proud to host Tuxes & Tails a spectacular event for a great cause, said CEO David Loewe, but we could not do it without our charitable sponsors, hundreds of supporters who procure and donate auction items, our dedicated staff and volunteers who ensure that the night goes off without a hitch, and our guests who give so generously to the animals.

The special Fund-A-Need project was the highlight of the live auction and raised more than $600,000 for Seattle Humane to expand the Life-Saver Rescue Program for pets at risk of being euthanized elsewhere because of a lack of space or resources to care for them.

Seattle Humane says they make it a priority to offer our services first to animals in our community, and then they reach out to shelters across the state and even out of state to save animal s lives.

You can still make a donation to the Seattle Humane Society at tuxesandtails.org. To make a donation to the Fund-A-Need to expand the Life-Saver Rescue Program, go to tuxesandtails.org or call (425) 373-5382.
