PUYALLUP, Wash. -- A week ago, a hit-and-run driver ran into Chloe Williams while she was walking in a cross walk.

She s been in a hospital bed ever since. Standing is hard for her. Walking is something she expects to work on soon.

The 15-year-old said her recovery could come along faster if the driver who hurt her would turn themselves in.

It would help a lot, said Williams from her Tacoma General Hospital bed. It would be really satisfying.

Williams was hit while crossing West Stewart Avenue around 7:30 p.m. March 14. Puyallup investigators believe the driver responsible for the crash was in a white car, perhaps an SUV.

What would possess them to drive away like that knowing what they had just done? asked Williams.

Williams starts high school in the fall. She planned on taking driving lessons next month.

She just wants to be, what she called, normal again.

I miss shopping, said Williams.
