Seattle Police say a man suffered serious bite wounds in an assault and robbery in the Jungle, the wooded area along the west side of Beacon Hill.

Police say just before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, two men walked to the Metro Transit base at Airport Way S. and S. Atlantic Street, and reported that they d been attacked in the nearby woods.

The victim and his friend told police that two suspects, both Hispanic men, had approached them under I-5, and hit the victim in the head with a rock.

During the attack, one of the suspects bit off part of the victim s lower lip, and also bit the victim on his neck.

The suspects then took the victim s wallet and watch and rode away on a bicycle.

The victim was taken to Harborview for treatment. His friend, who wasn t injured in the incident, told officers he had seen the suspects in the Jungle several weeks earlier, but didn t know the men.
