PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Portland Trail Blazers general manager Neil Olshey says the team will match any offers for French swingman Nicolas Batum.

Olshey's comments came Wednesday after speculation the team might be working on a sign-and-trade with Minnesota, which was interested in the restricted free agent.

Olshey said he believes Batum has more value than what Minnesota would be able to offer.

Batum's agent told The Associated Press last week that he and the Timberwolves agreed to terms on a four-year, $45 million offer with bonuses that could push it past $50 million.

Agent Bouna Ndiaye also told the AP that Batum wanted to play for the Wolves and that they hoped the Blazers would either not match the offer or execute a sign-and-trade.

Blazers and Hickson agree to 1-year deal

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- The Trail Blazers and free agent J.J. Hickson have agreed to a 1-year deal to bring the forward back to Portland.

The agreement was confirmed Wednesday by Hickson's agent, Andy Miller. It was first reported by Yahoo! Sports.

Miller would not disclose financial terms.

Hickson was claimed by the Blazers off waivers last March.

He appeared in 19 games with Portland, averaging 15.1 points and 8.3 rebounds.

Blazers sign Spanish F Victor Claver

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- The Portland Trail Blazers have signed Spanish forward Victor Claver.

Claver was the 22nd overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft by the Blazers.

He comes to Portland after six seasons with Valencia in the Spanish ACB League. He averaged 8.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists last season.

A native of Valencia, Claver is on the Spanish national team that will play in the London Olympics.

Terms of the multiyear deal were not announced.
