DARRINGTON, Wash. - A memorial service is planned April 5 for a 69-year-old retired librarian who is among the victims of the devastating mudslide in Oso.

The service for Linda McPherson is planned even as crews continue the grueling work of locating and identifying other victims of the March 22 slide that covered the community northeast of Seattle.

The mudslide destroyed the home that McPherson shared with her husband, Gary Mac McPherson. He was injured but has been released from a hospital.

Linda McPherson was born in Arlington and attended Darrington High School and the University of Washington.

She retired in 2011 after spending 28 years as a Librarian at the Darrington Library.

She is survived by her husband, son Eric McPherson and daughter Kate McPherson; her siblings and many nieces and nephews.

The memorial will be held Saturday, April 5, at 1 p.m. at the Darrington Community Center, 570 Sauk Ave in Darrington.
