ORTING, Wash. -- Hundreds of concerned Orting residents were expected at a city council meeting Wednesday night to voice their concerns over what they consider to be an increase in violence.
This comes as police still search for suspects in the shooting death of Michael Compton, 53, a well known community activist in Orting.
Police say Compton was killed possibly interupting a burglary at his home. Its the city's first homicide in over 15 years.
Concerned families want Orting police to consider possible block watches and increased patrols among other things.
Police say property crime is slightly up in Orting.
