SEATTLE -- One person died after a Ballard Marine Construction boat capsized in Elliot Bay on Friday afternoon.

The King County Medical Examiner identified the man as 40-year-old Anthony Collins.

Coast Guard Petty Officer George Degener says the 30-foot aluminum boat capsized around 2 p.m. while the commercial vessel was conducting a dive survey.

Four people went into the water off Alki Beach, three were quickly rescued.

Seattle Fire Department divers say Collins was underwater for at least 30 minutes. He was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center, where he later died.

The cause of the accident is not yet known.
