KENT, Wash. -- Six suspects pleaded not guilty Thursday for their part in a shootout at a car show in Kent.
The shooting on July 23 injured 12 people.
Nicholas Moreno, Ignacio Vazquez-Trevino and Martin McSmith are charged with three counts of first degree assault with a firearm enhancement. James Lopez, Jr. is charged with one count of drive-by shooting. Lopez is a juvenile, but is charged as an adult. Brothers Shea and Patrick Auble are charged with rendering criminal assistance.
Defendants range in age from 17 to 30. Detectives said they are all members of the Playboy-Surenos street gang.
Extra security was on hand for the arraignment at the Regional Justice Center.
