MUKILTEO -- Authorities said Sunday night a 34-year-old man is responsible for shooting two people outside a Camano Island home, then leading police on a high-speed chase through Snohomish County.

The suspect was then shot by authorities, according to Edmonds Police, and is in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center. No law enforcement were injured.

Island County Sheriff Mark Brown said at 3:15pm, a 911 caller reported that two people had been shot on Michelle Drive on Camano Island.

By late Sunday night, detectives were seen scouring a slope near the home for clues. A car was running in the driveway, but no explanation was given by deputies. Both victims were found outside, they said.

A male was shot in the neck and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He was in critical condition Monday. A female victim was shot in the arm and taken to Skagit Valley Hospital. She was able to give police a description of the suspect.

The circumstances of the shooting were not immediately known.

Soon, the suspect was spotted in Stanwood and promptly led a chase that reached speeds of 110 miles-an-hour, authorities said.

Finally cornered in Mukilteo, four different officers were involved in a gun fight with the suspect. All are on administrative leave.
