Without the makeup, super fans Jeff and Dede Schumaier look a lot different.
I feel different, said Jeff.
At all Hawks home games you can spot them in the south end zone. Front row seats. They re the couple with all that face paint, screaming at the top of their lungs.
I can scream really loud you know, said Dede.
Yeah we know. What you might not know is how they got their names.
We re Mr. and Mrs. Seahawk!
And proud of it. The name stuck after what happened at the Kingdome September 20, 1998. It was just before the Seahawks Redskins game.
And we won! said Jeff laughing.
That day was a win-win for the couple.
I was shaking. I was so nervous, said Dede. We had 211 people in the middle of the football field.
It was the most important day of their lives.
The only wedding at the 50-yard line at the Kingdome, said Jeff.
It s where they exchanged their wedding vows. Fifteen years later, they re still happily married. The Seahawks obsession has transformed their lives and transformed their Auburn home.
It s a Seahawks house, said Jeff.
More like a museum. Everything Seahawks. The carpet, the toaster oven, the toilet, the bedroom.
Even the dishes. You name it, said Jeff, who s convinced this shared bond has helped their marriage. No better bond.
And no better time to be a Seahawks fan.
We got our tickets, said Jeff.
Yes, thank God, added Dede. We re really excited.
Mr. and Mrs. Seahawk say they ll be even more excited after the Super Bowl win.
