YAKIMA, Wash. -- Brennan Rakoz scored 10 of his game-high 14 points in the second half Saturday to lead Toledo to a 38-27 victory over King's and its first Class 1A boys state basketball championship.

Rakoz, the tournament MVP, scored five points in a 6-0 run that pushed the Indians to a 25-17 with 1:58 to play in the third quarter. King's never got closer than five points the rest of the way.

Austin Trafelet, who joined Rakoz on the all-tournament first team, added 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Rakoz finished with 10 rebounds and had three blocked shots.

In its 20 previous trips, the Indians (26-1) had finished no higher than second.

Brian Hughes and Caleb Taylor each scored six points to lead King's (21-7).
