A new study conducted in the Northwest shows eating deep-fried food may be associated with an increased risk of prostate cancer.

Researchers at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center determined men who ate one or more deep-fried foods at least weekly had an increased risk of prostate cancer that ranged from 30 to 37 percent.

It appears the foods also led to more aggressive forms of the disease. The foods included things such as french fries, doughnuts and fried chicken.

Researchers believe the high temperatures of the oils may produce carcinogenic compounds.
