ASTORIA, Ore. -- A semi-truck toppled over while traveling across the Astoria-Megler Bridge Monday morning, causing major traffic disruptions.
Driver Rodney Woodzell, 50, from Ohio, suffered minor injuries, according to Lt. Gregg Hastings with Oregon State Police.
The bridge was reopened just before 7 p.m.
Woodzell's semi-truck was traveling southbound on Highway 101 near milepost 3 over the Astoria-Megler Bridge when he lost control in high wind conditions.
The truck and semi-trailer rolled onto their left side with the trailer coming to rest partially against the guardrail. Hastings said.
Crews with the Oregon Department of Transportation in Clatsop County were urging motorists to postpone or delay travel on coastal corridors until the storm passes.
They warned that there are downed trees, debris and high standing water making driving difficult along many area roadways.
