Dee Milliner has only played 13 games in his NFL career, but he s entering his second season with the mindset that he s the best cornerback in the league. AtJets training camp Saturday in Cortland, New York, Milliner told the New York Daily News that he would never admit that another corner is better.

Via the NYDN:

The best corner in the league? Me.... I m not going to say somebody that plays the same position is better than me. Don t care if they ve been in the league 10 years and I ve been here five months. That s how it s going to go. I m the best. I m not going to say that another man that plays the same position... and say he s better than me? I can t do that.

The Jets took the former Alabama star with the ninth pick of the 2013 draft, but Milliner was benched by coach Rex Ryan three times early in the season as he struggled to overcome injuries and adapt to the NFL. Milliner grew as the season progressed, and was named NFL defensive rookie of the month in December. He finished his rookie year with 56 tackles, three interceptions and 17 passes defended. Millineracknowledged that his rookie year was frustratingat times, but he s ready to make a leap in his sophomore season.

It wasn t too good at the beginning of the season. So, that s an F right there. I give myself a B-plus how I finished.... But it ain t about the grades. It s about what I can do each week. Whatever it takes for us to win the game, that s what I need to do.

With Antonio Cromartie gone and no new arrivals at the position, Milliner is now the unquestioned No. 1. Time will tell if he can become New York s next Darrelle Revis.
