The tiniest survivor of the Oso landslide continues to improve in the hospital and his family is thanking rescuers.
Duke Suddarth, 23 weeks old, is in serious condition but is improving in intensive care at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
His mother, 25-year-old Amanda Skorjanc, is in satisfactory condition.
The two were pulled from the mud after the landslide hit last weekend.
The Skorjanc and Suddarth families released some photos of Duke on Saturday and issued a statement, saying:
We are so grateful to all the responders who jeopardized their safety in order to pull Duke and Amanda out of the debris. Words alone cannot tell you how thankful we are. Our hearts and support continue to go out to everyone who has been affected by this tragedy.
A Harborview spokeswoman also gave an update on the other people rescued from the slide. Tim Ward, 58, is in satisfactory condition and Larry Gullikson, 81, is in serious and improving condition in intensive care. Mark Lambert, 37, is in serious condition in intensive care.
