Usually when people buy lottery tickets they to want to win money, but on Monday, those buying $10 scratchers at the Southcenter Mall were hoping for a different prize: Seahawks tickets.
The Washington State Lottery is giving out 10 pairs of playoff tickets.
Here's how it works:
For every $10 purchase, which is a $10 scratch ticket, each person will get one entry, if they spend $100 they get 10 entries, said Randy Warick, Washington State Lottery.
There were 10 Playoff Packages that could be won. The packages include 2 tickets to the Seahawks NFC Divisional game against the NewOrleans Saints, a one-night hotel stay, a parking pass and a $100 gift card to spend at the Pro Shop.
Five winners will win a pair of Seahawks Elite Receiver Gloves and a $300 gift card to the Pro Shop.
The lottery randomly picked the winners. The drawing was Monday at 7 p.m.
Lottery officials say they plan to do something similar for NFC Championship game tickets and the Super Bowl.
