A man who was once considered to be an expert for people battling drug and alcohol addiction in Western Washington has pleaded guilty to attempted child molestation and possession of cocaine.
David Scratchley was clinical director of Talbot Center in Seattle and claimed to be a psychologist, but was not licensed in Washington
According to charging documents, Scratchley befriended the son of a Talbot Center patient and lured the boy to his Belltown apartment, intending to rape him.
According to the King County Prosecutor s Office, Scratchley must register as a sex offender in Washington for life and faces a lifetime of community supervision.
The plea deal carries a recommended sentence of 56 months, but under new state sentencing guidelines Scratchley could be held longer if he s still considered a danger after serving his sentence. That decision would be made by the parole board.
