Microsoft's Steve Ballmer is the worst CEO of a large publicly traded American company today, according to Forbes.
According to their Five CEOs Who Should Have Already Been Fired list, Forbes says Ballmer singlehandedly steered Microsoft out of some of the fastest growing and most lucrative tech markets, which has also affected companies beyond Microsoft, such as Dell, Hewlett Packard and Nokia.
Back in 2000, Microsoft shares peaked at $60, just as Ballmer took the reins of Microsoft. By 2002, Microsoft shares fell into the $20s, and has crept up to its current low $30s value.
Although he s #19 on Forbes list of billionaires, Mr. Ballmer should not be allowed to take such incredible risks with investor money and employee jobs, said Forbes. Best he be retired to enjoy his fortune rather than deprive investors and employees of building theirs.
Here's who else made Forbes' '5 CEOs that truly deserve being fired' list:
#1 Steve Ballmer, Microsoft
